Build Confidence. Master Independence.

The best divers aren’t just skilled—they’re prepared for anything. The PADI Self-Reliant Diver Specialty is designed for experienced divers who want to develop greater confidence, self-sufficiency, and personal responsibility underwater. While buddy diving remains the standard, learning self-reliant techniques makes you a stronger, safer, and more capable diver in every situation.

At Zero Limits Diving, we’ll help you develop the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to plan and execute dives independently while managing risks with confidence and professionalism.

To enrol in the PADI Self-Reliant Diver Specialty course, you must:

  • Be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or hold an equivalent certification from another recognised training agency).
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have logged a minimum of 100 dives.
  • Successfully complete a skills assessment with your Zero Limits Diving PADI Instructor before starting the course.

  • Switch to a redundant air source during simulated emergency situations.
  • Navigate confidently back to your exit point.
  • Deploy and use a Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB).
  • Build the confidence and discipline required for responsible self-reliant diving.

Completing this specialty also brings you one step closer to achieving the prestigious PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
