You’ve mastered the basics—now it’s time to explore further. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is designed to build your confidence, expand your skills, and introduce you to new and exciting underwater adventures.
Through five Adventure Dives, you’ll experience different styles of diving while gaining valuable experience under the guidance of a Zero Limits Diving PADI Instructor. Whether you’re diving deeper, improving your buoyancy, navigating underwater, or exploring wrecks, every dive helps you become a more capable and confident diver.

Prerequisites
To enrol in a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course (or Junior Advanced Open Water Diver course):
- You must be 12 years old or older.
- You must hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification (or an equivalent certification from another recognised training agency).
Junior Advanced Open Water Divers may only participate in selected Adventure Dives appropriate to their age.
Course Outline
The course consists of five Adventure Dives, allowing you to customise your training while gaining experience in different diving environments.
Required Adventure Dives
- Deep Adventure Dive – Learn how to safely plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 30 metres, while understanding the effects and challenges of deeper diving.
- Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive – Improve your compass navigation skills and learn to navigate confidently using natural references, kick cycles, and time.

Select from a wide variety of exciting specialties based on your interests, including:
- Peak Performance Buoyancy
- Wreck Diver

Many Adventure Dives can also count as the first dive toward the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver certification.
Equipment
We’ll provide the equipment needed for your training, including standard scuba gear and any specialised equipment required for your chosen Adventure Dives.
Depending on your selections, you may also use:
- Compass
- Dive light
- Dive tool/knife
- Lift bag
- Full Face Mask
- Sidemount equipment
- Dry suit
- Other specialty equipment
Your Zero Limits Diving Instructor will explain all equipment and ensure you’re comfortable using it before entering the water.
Getting Started
After booking your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course and confirming your payment, you’ll receive access to PADI eLearning, allowing you to complete the theory at your own pace before your practical training begins.
One of our experienced Zero Limits Diving PADI Instructors will then contact you to schedule your dives, discuss your Adventure Dive choices, and guide you through every step of the course.
Practical training typically takes 2–3 days and is usually conducted over weekends, with weekday training available by prior arrangement.
