Be Ready When Every Second Counts

Emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere—and knowing what to do can make all the difference. The Emergency First Response (EFR) course gives you the knowledge and confidence to respond quickly and effectively in medical emergencies, whether you’re at home, at work, on the road, or on a dive adventure.

At Zero Limits Diving, we believe lifesaving skills are for everyone. This internationally recognised course is designed for divers and non-divers alike, equipping you with practical skills that could one day save a life.

Prerequisites

There are:

  • No minimum age requirements
  • No previous medical or first aid experience required
  • No diving certification required

Anyone who wants to learn lifesaving skills is welcome to enrol.

Course Outline

Through hands-on practical training and realistic emergency scenarios, you’ll learn how to:

  • Assess an emergency scene safely.
  • Perform CPR on adults, children, and infants.
  • Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Manage severe bleeding and treat shock.
  • Assist conscious and unconscious choking casualties.
  • Recognise and manage spinal injuries.
  • Perform secondary patient assessments.
  • Treat common illnesses and injuries.
  • Apply bandages and splints for fractures and dislocations.
  • Respond to burns, temperature-related injuries, and other medical emergencies.
  • Develop confidence to act quickly in real-life situations.

You can also choose to include the Care for Children module, which teaches emergency care techniques specifically for infants and young children.

Equipment

All training equipment is provided, including:

  • CPR training manikins
  • AED training units
  • First aid supplies
  • Bandages and splints
  • Training manuals and reference materials

Your Zero Limits Diving Instructor will provide all the equipment needed throughout the course.

Getting Started

Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll receive your Emergency First Response learning materials before your practical training begins.

One of our qualified Zero Limits Diving Instructors will then contact you to schedule your training day and answer any questions you may have.

Practical training is completed in 1 day and is usually conducted over weekends, with weekday training available by prior arrangement.
