The PADI Boat Diver Specialty prepares you to dive safely and confidently from a variety of vessels, giving you the knowledge and skills to enjoy dive trips anywhere in the world.

At Zero Limits Diving, we’ll teach you how to make the most of every boat diving experience so you can focus on the adventure waiting beneath the surface.

Prerequisites

To enrol in the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course, you must:

• Be a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver (or hold an equivalent certification from another recognised training agency).
• Be at least 10 years old.

Course Outline

During this course, you’ll learn how to:

• Understand the layout and safety features of different dive boats.
• Use common boating and diving terminology.
• Perform safe entries and exits with and without scuba equipment.
• Use surface lines, mooring lines, anchor lines, and guide lines correctly.
• Properly prepare, organise, and stow your dive equipment onboard.
• Pack efficiently for boat diving adventures.
• Prevent and manage seasickness.
• Follow safe boat diving procedures and etiquette.

Completing this specialty also brings you one step closer to achieving the prestigious PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Equipment

You’ll use your standard scuba equipment throughout the course. Your Zero Limits Diving Instructor may recommend additional equipment depending on the type of boat and local diving conditions.

Getting Started

Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll receive your PADI Boat Diver learning materials before your practical training begins.

One of our experienced Zero Limits Diving PADI Instructors will then contact you to schedule your training sessions and guide you through every step of the course.

Practical training typically takes 1–2 days and is usually conducted over weekends, with weekday training available by prior arrangement.
