The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider course gives you the knowledge and confidence to recognise diving-related injuries and administer emergency oxygen while waiting for professional medical assistance. Whether you’re a diver, dive professional, boat crew member, lifeguard, or simply someone who spends time around the water, this course equips you with an essential lifesaving skill.

Prerequisites

There are:

  • No minimum age requirements
  • No previous diving certification required
  • No previous medical experience required
  • No water sessions required

This course is open to everyone, including divers, snorkellers, boat crew, lifeguards, and anyone involved in water-based activities.

Course Outline

Through interactive classroom sessions and practical skills development, you’ll learn how to recognise diving-related illnesses and injuries and safely administer emergency oxygen.

Throughout the course you’ll learn how to:

  • Recognise common scuba diving illnesses and injuries.
  • Understand when emergency oxygen should be administered.
  • Safely handle and operate emergency oxygen equipment.
  • Assemble and disassemble oxygen delivery systems.
  • Deliver oxygen using a non-rebreather mask and demand valve.
  • Provide oxygen support to both breathing and non-breathing divers using appropriate techniques.

By completing this course, you’ll also be one step closer to achieving the prestigious PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Learning Materials

You’ll receive access to the official PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider learning materials before your practical training begins, allowing you to study at your own pace and arrive fully prepared for the hands-on skills session.

Equipment

All emergency oxygen equipment required for training is provided by Zero Limits Diving. During the course you’ll gain practical experience using professional oxygen delivery systems, and we’ll gladly assist you in choosing the right emergency oxygen kit should you wish to own one for your own diving adventures.

Getting Started

Once you’ve enrolled, one of our qualified Zero Limits Diving Instructors will contact you with your learning materials and arrange your practical training dates.

Practical training is completed over 1–2 days and is usually conducted over weekends, with weekday training available by prior arrangement.
